Empty of Self, Full of Being

The first part of the journey is from I am something to I am nothing. The second is the journey from I am nothing to I am everything. In Western traditions, the first step is the Via Negativa and the second, the Via Positiva. ‘I am’ is the portal and the pathway to God's presence. In Christianity, this pathway from the individual to the universal is the story of the crucifixion and resurrection and involves a kind of death of identity. From the point of view of the mind, this self-aware being seems to be nothing and is described as the void. But from the point of view of infinite consciousness, it is not empty because there is nothing other than itself. Emptying ourself reveals the fullness of infinite being.
