In this approach, meditation is what we are, not what we do. We cannot become what we always and already are through effort, practice or discipline, nor can we cease being what we always and already are through negligence, distraction or inadvertence. Here we understand and feel that we are the borderless, aware openness that pervades all experience intimately but is at the same time free of any particular experience. We see that all experience passes through us without leaving a trace, and we simply remain as this aware openness that lies behind and shines in the midst of all experience.
