Just rest in the simple feeling of being, which is your primary and innermost experience. This feeling of being is always present, yet often obscured by thoughts, feelings and perceptions. Meditation is a process of sinking beneath these distractions and returning to your essential being. It’s not about achieving a new state, but rather recognising what you already are. Your being is not affected by the changing experiences of waking, dreaming and sleeping. It remains eternally present, peaceful and unqualified. Enlightenment isn’t a future attainment but realising our unchanging nature now. By recognising and resting in your being, you can live in its innate peace and contentment rather than being agitated by thoughts and feelings.
