The Ending of Expectation

Be sensitive to the slightest sense of expectation with respect to this meeting. The sense that something is going to be said or given that will finally bring us peace or fulfilment. That activity of expecting, that expectation is the activity of our suffering. The effortless ending of expectation that is the inevitable consequence of understanding. It is excavating that remnant of the separate self in us that perpetuates itself through the activities of resisting and seeking, that is, boredom and expectation.
