The Revelation of the One Reality

The non-dual understanding is the revelation of the one reality behind the apparent multiplicity and diversity of things; the teaching is the way we see through appearances to the one reality. Perception refracts the one and makes it appear as a multiplicity and diversity of things, but this is an illusion. Initially, we turn away from the illusion, from the content of experience, in order to recognise the reality that lies behind it. However, there is only the one that is always only knowing itself. There cannot even be said to be creation because something other than that one would have to be created. We don’t deny the reality of the world, we upgrade its reality. There is no sorrow, for sorrow implies resistance and there is nothing other than the one which could resist or be resisted. This absence of otherness, God's love, is the nature of the one – complete, perfect, whole.
